Now that’s racin!!

Wow, what a race huh? As the title says….now that’s racin!!! My kinda race with 25 different leaders and 57 lead changes, Talladega fulfills the definition of Nascar Racing!!! Sorry to see Carl go flying, and fans get injured, but hey hey to NASCAR for strengthening the fence, it held very well in my opinion.

Brad Keselowski made a great call and what an exciting finish for a first time win! I imagine you never forget that first win, and now not many else will forget it either. I personally would have liked to see Jr win the race, but his second place finish still assures me that he has what it takes to be a NASCAR champion. Even with all the critics and neigh Sayers out there, I believe in my driver.

Well, should we all turn are TV’s on next week? Can we have that same excitement week after week please Mr. NASCAR? I can assure you most of us were on the edge of our seats, jumpin up and down, anxiously and happily waiting for the victor!! Now that’s what sells tickets!! All us diehards will be there, but if it were that exciting every week, think how full the stands would be every weekend!!

Patrick Clegg, 16 years old, played for the Waynesville Tigers here in Missouir. Patrick was struck in the head by a pitch earlier this week, and has passed away. Please keep Patrick in your prayers, as well his family and his fellow players.

Post Race Review

Well, I guess I should quit following my gut!! While I was very excited that Mark Martin won his first race since 2005 I can’t help but be sad that Jr lost!!

I watched the race and joined my favorite race chat. I was daunted by the “chatter” of what a loser Jr’s team had turned into!! See, I am a DIEHARD race fan, unlike the many FAIRWEATHER race fans out there. Now mind you, we often have clashes in there over our favorite drivers, and I was out numbered by the “chatty’s”, but there were a few Jr fans in there that completely sold their driver out!! It was so frustrating that I ended up dropping out of the chat. Think I take racing seriously?

I guess what it boils down to is; I believe in Jr!! Yep, he hasn’t won this year, but do we really need to throw him and Eury to the wolves? True race fans support their driver through thick and thin, no matter how thin!! How many Martin fans out there do you think have waited and waited and waited for Mark to win? The true fans knew it would happen again!! Cudo’s to all of you!! The true Jr fan in me knows Jr will win again also!! And I will leave it up to him to make the decisions about his team!!

Race Ramblings

Well just got done watchin the Nationwide race. Good job Biff!! Congrats to Jack Rousch on the 100th win!!

I am really taken aback by this blogging thing!! I am full of all kinds of thoughts of what to write about, yet can’t seem to narrow it down and get it on paper. I don’t figure ya all wanna hear my “technical” blog everyday, so gonna limit that to once or twice a week.

I am really excited for tomorrows race. I pride myself on my “gut” feelings. I have a “gut” feeling that tomorrow is Jr’s night. There I said it, its out there. I dunno, I just have this really overwhelming feeling that Jr is gonna win Phoenix tomorrow night. Wow, won’t alot of us be happy if I am right!! C’mon Tony Jr. get a really good nights sleep and be on the ball tomorrow night and don’t forget to tell that pit crew that a mistake might just cost them their job!! LMAO maybe that will help!!

The Technical Side of Racing

Being the huge Nascar Fan that I am, I naturally want my “Nascar” blog to be successful, so while maneuvering through my day today I thought to myself what can I “blog” about.

I decided I needed more education!! Imagine that!! So with a computer at my fingertips I decided to learn about aerodynamics.

Wow!! Aerodynamics! I don’t think I realized the importance of the aerodynamics of the race car. With the development of the “car of tomorrow” I can now, after all my learning’s understand where this surely has had an effect on the Sprint Cup circuit.

I had no idea that the airflow around the outside of the car, could affect the pressure under the hood, which then in turn would allow the car to have more down force. I also, had no idea that the air flow could impact the way the car goes around the track that by having the right amount of flow on the right side would cause the car to have more “grip” allowing for the car to handle the turns better.

I have decided that there has to be other women out there, like me, who love the races!! Who also have no idea about the “technical” side of it? While it might not be something that everyone has an interest in, I believe that increasing my technical knowledge of the race could only increase my enjoyment of the race.

Who knows, maybe when I am listening to the scanners during a race, I might be able to offer some shouted advice at the TV when things aren’t going so well for one of my favorite racers.

After reading about the aerodynamics of the racecar, I can only think that the winners have a “grip” on this (pardon the pun) and the losers, well I would say are slipping!!

So there you have it, understanding the race better is my objective for the next few days!! Feel free to offer your knowledge on the subject, should I mislead myself.

Saturday’s Night Race in Phoenix

Racin under the lights!! Nothin better if you ask me! Who is gonna win? Jimmy has taken the last three races there, and Gordon the one before that. Jr hasn’t won there since 2003..can he pull one out? Gosh I sure do hope so…as I am a tireless Dale Earnhardt Jr fan, as all of you will come to know!

Many think Jr needs to rid himself of the ole ball and chain Eury. I am not so sure, I am of the opinion that maybe Jr and Tony just need to get the same beat going. We can all sit here and second guess all the decisions, heaven knows the announcers do!! I have taken to watching the race with the mute button on, as I tire of the constant babble by the announcers who will say anything to fill the silence. Sometimes, Darryl, Jeff, and Larry its OKAY to just watch the race!! Ya all ought to try it!!

If you want to entertain me, give me the technial side of the race, quit telling me what the drivers are thinkin!! YOU DON”T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE THINKING!!! I know, as my fellow Nascar fans know, we don’t watch the race to listen to you, hate to break it to you so abrubtly, but ummm yah, we watch to SEE THE RACE!!

So..back to who’s gonna win…heck I dunno!!! Who do I want to win… Jr!! Or Jamie, seeing how I hear that his ride is gone for next year — crazy crazy Jack Roush!! Whomever it is, lets hope its an exciting race that keeps all on the edge of our seats til the last lap!!

Well this is it… this is my new place to expound my Nascar thoughts!! I love to watch Nascar, as many do. I know I am not alone.

I am excited to have a place to share our thoughts about the races, drivers and Nascar itself!!
